Dansko soles, meet Merrell

So, here is the truth. Ever since I found Dansko clogs, my feet have worn not much else. Ok, so you can count the LLBean Wicked Good Clogs at home, but most days, I am in my Dansko clogs. I wear a black oiled leather pair to work, and I also have a brown nubuck pair. The sole is heavenly on my feet and I adore them.

However, they simply won't do for hiking in the woods or on trails. And, since I am finally going to be part of the "flock" going to the New River Birding and Nature Festival in April (come on, you know you want to go too, so click on the badge to the right and go register!), I figured I'd best find some appropriate footwear. This is my first birdy adventure out of my backyard, and so I went looking for some comfy hiking type shoes. I found these very cute Merrell hiking shoes and they came in the mail the other day.

Yesterday was my day off and I had boo coos of errands to run. I slipped these babies on yesterday morning and immediately felt the difference from my Dansko soles... not bad, but just... different. But, after wearing them only an hour or so, my soles adjusted and were happy, happy, happy the rest of the day. I made eleven stops and so I was on my feet a good bit. A good start to wearing in my new hiking/WV/loss of bird outing virginity boots!! Yipeeeee!

You will like them. I used to hike in Merrells before starting to tackle bigger rockier peaks that wore them out too quickly. The Merrells are just right for what you are doing, though. I passed mine on to my mom who enjoys wearing them when walking in the woods.

I love them. They are functional and stylish at the same time. You are going to look so chic on your trip!!

I will be looking for a good pair of hiking boot this spring and will put this brand on my list to look for.

There's nothing quite like a good feel on your feet. Glad you found something that makes your feet so happy! By the time spring rolls around you will be decked to the birds!

My Merrell hikers are on their last legs but have taken me many miles in comfort. They were comfortable the moment I put them on.

Dansko clogs are a gift to tired feet. All the teachers at my school wear them and we've noticed that teachers from other schools who are grumpy all the time, don't wear them. So, there you go. Great shoes=happy feet=happy teachers. :)

I, too, need some other shoes though for other times. My old hiking boots about killed me the last time I wore them and I donated them to Goodwill forthwith (they were too small, mostly . . .dang kids and their feet spreading abilities). I'll check out those Merrells.

Comfy shoes??? I never had any! The best ones I have got a bit chewed on my Emily when we first got her, but I wear them anyway...they feel OK. I like those boots - maybe I'll go try some.

They're worth a try. My feet are miserable in anything but barefoot. They only tolerate shoes to be outside. I'll check out the Merrells(do you think they'll let me take a test walk?)

I am beside myself excited to meet ya!

I don't have Merrells - so thanks for the tip! I've been looking at a nice pair of hiking BOOTS - I need the support for my bad ankle.

Are we getting excited, or what?

:o)

Happy hiking :) I could really do with something like that too - haven't got any hiking boots as such...
Have fun on your adventures

I've had several pairs of Merrells, and love them. Great shoes and extremely comfortable.

And after your post, I went out and bought myself some clogs. Which I now love as well.

There's *nothing* like a good pair of hiking boots, or shoes, for that matter. Congratulations on finding a great pair!
