The magic of Clorox

WOW!
I have been on a quest of sorts.
I've never had a porcelain sink, and quickly found out
how easily they stain and how hard they are to clean.
I went to Lowe's and purchased cleaner specifically
for porcelain, and then even put a "sealant" on it afterwards.
Nope.
Didn't work.
Still stained to beat the band.
In my desperation, I finally decided to try some sort
of bleaching product even though it's not recommended.
I've used the Clorox Clean-Up in the bathroom before
and decided to give it a whirl on the sink.
I sprayed liberally and let it sit...
Then I gently used a Scotch sponge to scrub.
Wowie Kazowie!
Just look at that sink!
On second thought, before you scroll down
and enlarge, you might want to put on your shades!
Yea baby!
Mama is happy now!
(I know, it takes so little to make me grin.)

wow! I'd be afraid to put anything in something that pretty. That clorox is amazing stuff, it scares me to death but it sure does work. I use it on my shower with a Scotch sponge and the window open and the tub shines bright enough to wake me up in the mornings.

Wow, thanks for the warning to put on my shades! I have a love/hate relationship with clorox. Hate it as a chemical, but it sure does clean!

Working in a laboratory where we bleach EVERYTHING, I've really come to hate the smell of bleach. At home Art discovered that the Cascade dishwasher gel works wonders on our porcelain sink.

Cool! Thanks for the tip. :)

Porcelain sinks aren't as delicate as you might imagine! :) I'm pretty willing to scrub mine when it needs it which is pretty often. I use Soft Scrub now but have used Comet in the past. Nothing better than a shiny sink!

Isn't it funny how such a simple thing as a clean sink can make us giddy? After bleaching the house last spring when we had a parvo pup in the house I discovered that bleach is really a friend--the secret it dilution. Glad to know that you found a way to make your sink shine!

Lynne has a good suggestion too. Dishwasher products are also great for releasing burned on food from pots and pans.

Wow! Don't ya just love a product that WORKS?

I use Soft Scrub w/Bleach on my porcelain sinks. Not every day - probably once a week because I like bright, too :o)

I need to find that product. Periodically I'll used a little bleach in my dishwater and found that it cleans the sink like that. Now that is a cleaning product! :-)

Yay. Hooray!

As I read this, iTunes genius gave me a little Andrea Zonn.

And I am very thankful for you today.

Dazzling all right! Careful when you pour out the leftover coffee.

Boy! It does look pretty. I wish I could use it in the bathtub but I think it's fiberglass or something like that. I'm afraid it would dissolve it.

Good for you! Here's a news flash - I sprung for the matching Corian sink - it stains too!
