Growing up

The Bluebird babies have finally started coming to the feeders
on a regular basis. They fledged on the 20th of April and are
growing up fast. Initially, I only saw two at a time, and wondered
what might have happened to the other two, and so I was
happy to see three show up together yesterday with Dad.
It's rather funny to watch them sitting in a cup full of
sunflower hearts, and yet screaming at Dad with an open mouth.
Mom already has another nest going in the other bluebird house.
She's in for a long, busy summer.

I love the second picture! I wouldn't have recognized a young Bluebird for sure.

Wow, what a beautiful bluebird family!

I wonder how often I'm like the little bluebirds, screaming for help when the answer is right under my feet!

Look at those pretty little blue tails already. I am really enjoying watching this family through your lens. Thank you for sharing them with those of us who do not get bluebirds.

Lovely, just lovely. Don't you just love fledglings? My favorite time is when Dad decides it is time for them to feed themselves. They sit screaming indignantly. We look forward to more of these great pictures.

They are so beautiful. The picture of the tree with Dad is my favorite. The blue coming in on the fledgling's backs makes that shot for me. Visions of the beauty to come!

Cute babies. How lucky for you that you get to see them right outside your window!

They are all so wonderful!! I wish they would come to my house. We hardly ever see bluebirds around here. Beautiful pictures, Jayne!

Exquisite, Jayne! It's so special to see such great pics of juvenile bluebirds with an adult. It's sometimes hard to believe these are the same species.

They sure do love that plant holder, don't they. That's such a perfect place for them, too. Happy Mother's Day.

Great pictures! I wouldn't have recognized the bluebird youngsters either.

I hope they will stick around and you can enjoy them longer.

Jayne, they are so cute. I'm so glad you are sharing these photos; I don't get to see bluebirds around here in my neighborhood. It's so nice to know that the bluebird population is thriving thanks to so many folks like yourself who provide for them.
