Gotcha!

I was at the kitchen window washing some dishes yesterday when I noticed the Red-breasted Nuthatch coming to the platform feeder hanging below. We set up the camera on the tripod and opened the window.... and waited, and waited, and waited. Finally! He came back for more seed and we got a decent shot. Man, he's fast, but worth the wait!

He's a great catch, Jayne! Glad you were patient. I've never seen one here. Isn't it fun to see new birds!!

What a cutie! If I had a kitchen window with a feeder nearby, I wouldn't mind washing dishes so much :o)

You must be enjoying your new camera so much!!!

Dear Jayne,
The Red Breasted Nuthatch is one of my favorites. They are so quick and darling.
Glad you have them too!
Worth waiting on!

That is a great picture! Do you have an remote control attachment thingy, (can't for the life of me remember what they are called), or are you sticking your hand out the window to take the picture?

Good shot Jayne. These little fellows are so illusive.

Robin, we simply opened the window and set the camera up on the tripod in front of it and stood there with finger on shutter. The lens (100-400mm) did the rest. :c)

What a wonderful photo. I love the red breasted nuthatches too. Do you think maybe this one is a gal...the head is more charcoal gray rather than black?

Nice shot! -We had one that visited our feeder up until late fall. I miss the little guy-they are fun birds to have at the feeders.
