Sam decided he wanted a "Funfetti" cake this year. I always put an additional box of vanilla pudding in the mix to make it even more moist and delicious. He even picked out the sprinkles to put on top and the "15" candles. We lit them and he made a big wish.... then dug in with a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream.
He got some DVD's he wanted, but the big hit was the long awaited Bachmann HO Deluxe Thomas the Tank Engine train set. We also got some extra engines as well. Their eyes move as they go along the track, you know. Makes all the difference. Once we get some more track, we'll have our very own Island of Sodor.

That cake looks delish! What a cool train.
Now I'm craving birthday cake.
Great photo of you and Sam!
I have the same Longaberger basket in my kitchen ;-)
Hi Jayne - I sure hope Sam had a memorable birthday. I loved the pix of this post and yesterday's post. I also thought of you and Sam yesterday when I saw this article about autism from Time magazine. I saw the article online and I don't know if it is available in the most recent print version - I'll look for it and let you know if it is. But for now, here is the web address if you would like to read it - http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,1653262,00.html?xid=rss-health
Mmmm Jayne, the cake looks and sounds really good! I love the photo of Sam and you!
Hi Jayne,
What a yummy looking cake....I love cake too.
Mary's comment made me laugh--I didn't even notice the basket because I was looking at the picture and thinking what a cute hairstyle you have! Isn't it funny how we all notice different things?
Thanks for the good wishes everyone. The cake is becoming smaller and smaller and smaller... lol.
Thanks for the link Mary C. Interesting concept, and much needed indeed.
Happiest of belated wishes to dear Sam!! and you are lovely, dear one :)
I saw a teeny hummingbird this morning and thought of you.....miss our talks.
I love cake! I actually watched Thomas the Train I think.-Does Ringo Starr narrate that?I love watching the changing expressions on the trains face.-I guess I probably shouldn't admit to watching that at my age.
