Since school starts on Monday... yes, August 6th... I know... it's craziness (school never used to start back until after Labor Day) , Sam wanted to spend the night with Nana and Papa one night this weekend. Husband and I took the opportunity to have a real date night last night. You know... to contemplate going someplace to eat that does not have onion rings and french fries? We had a lovely late lunch at one of our favorite places that recently was purchased by members of a family who have another successful restaurant. They redecorated for a cleaner, more open feel and redesigned the menu to include some wonderful choices. Husband had the shrimp and grits and I had the pork loin with onion/fig compote. The crab cake appetizer was heavenly as was the baby greens salad. Big YUM! After we ate, we went by Starbucks to get a coffee (Frappuccino for husband) and then we contemplated what we wanted to do next. What a luxury!
We called to see what time the new Matt Damon movie, the Bourne Ultimatum, was showing at our neighborhood theater, and had just enough time to make it to the 4:10PM show. It was wonderful! I just love Matt Damon and had seen the other Bourne movies, and so knew I'd probably enjoy this one as well. It was action packed, and so very suspenseful! We left smiling, enjoying our first movie together in probably a year.
We headed home and enjoyed several games of pool with some nice pinot noir and we laughed and laughed. Thus ends the part of the date I can blog about...tee hee hee. Thanks Nana and Papa. It was a wonderful date night. I'm off back to the hospital this morning... yawn...

Glad you and K had a chance for some time together, as well as a good meal out! Fun to get to the movies as well, and good to hear your review of it. I finally watched "The Bourne Identity" about a month ago, so I'm primed! Sorry you have to work today. Hope all goes smoothly and you have some fun tucked in there somewhere.
xoxo
Tee hee - that's cute Jayne.
Oh my, I love Robert Ludlum's books (may he rest in peace unfortunately), and I love these movies with Matt Damon. I haven't been to a movie in ages either, but this one I'm definitely going to go to see, oh yeah.
Hi Jayne, I'm so sorry you have to work on a Sunday, but it sounds like your date on Saturday was really a nice time. We haven't been to the movies in ages, but we will definitely see this one for sure!!
Aug 6th?? You are kidding! What ever happened to summer?

and i am completely jealous that you got to go out to the movies! the last time i went to the movies was with my 8 yr old to see shrek 3. last movie i saw with hubby was almost a year ago on our anniversary!
Matt Damon's all right with me-He's a Boston Native and a big Red Sox Fan!
Oh Jayne, sounds like an excellent date night....dinner, a movie & tee hee hee!
I cannot remember the last movie my spousal unit and I saw in an actual theater (101 Dalmatians or Twister?....it's been far too long!)
A real date! I'm glad you and Kent had some alone time. If all married couples worked to achieve some time alone, we'd all be happier for it.
Now that Michael and I have been empty nesters for 7 years, we are always trying to find people to join us on dates! LOL!
Good for you - tee hee hee!
