And so we heard the hammering...
And just look who had come to visit in the tree line behind our house! I almost peed my pants just standing there in awe of his size and splendor. Welcome Mr. Pileated Woodpecker! (Um, next time, could you hold your head out of the direct sunlight?)

Yes, Laura, he is huge, about the size of a large crow. Really spectacular to see! I was beyond excited to stand there and soak him in.
